Capability Engagements

We build the capabilities your next stage of growth depends on

Practitioners who have built these capabilities before work inside your team until the new way of operating is yours.

When to call us

Most engagements begin at a turning point in the organization’s growth

Expansion

A new market or country launch is on the plan for the next eighteen months.

Scrutiny

Investors, a board or a regulator now expect more structure than you have.

Dependence

Too many decisions still depend on the founders or a few senior people.

The engagement model

A clear path from the first conversation to a measured result

Every engagement is shaped around your organization, and each of the six stages ends with something you can see and use.

Phase 1

Understand

Where you are going and what it will take

  1. 01

    Diagnosis

We agree where the organization is going and which capabilities will decide whether it gets there.

You receive: A capability brief that ranks the gaps by their effect on your plan

  2. 02

    Capability mapping

We define what excellent looks like for the functions that matter most at your stage.

You receive: A capability map setting out the practices, roles and systems required

Phase 2

Build

The right people, working inside your team

  1. 03

    Practitioner matching

We introduce practitioners who have solved the same problem in similar markets.

You receive: A named practitioner team, introduced to your leadership before work begins

  2. 04

    Capability transfer

Practitioners work beside your team through workshops, coaching and live projects.

You receive: Your team practising the new way of working on live projects

Phase 3

Hand over

The new way of operating becomes yours

  1. 05

    Operational embedding

New practices are written into your processes, meetings and systems.

You receive: Documented processes, templates and tools that your team owns

  2. 06

    Measurable outcomes

We report against the measures we agreed with you at the start.

You receive: A before-and-after report against the measures agreed at the start

Capability areas

We work across eight capability areas

Whichever area the diagnosis points to, the practitioner we match has built that capability before.

  • 01

    Leadership

Leaders and managers who can run a larger and more complex organization.

  • 02

    Operations

Operating rhythms, processes and controls that hold up at scale.

  • 03

    Product development

How products are discovered, built, launched and improved.

  • 04

    Customer experience

Service standards and systems that stay consistent as volume grows.

  • 05

    Governance

Boards, committees, reporting lines and clear decision rights.

  • 06

    Risk management

Risk frameworks that satisfy regulators and help the business decide.

  • 07

    Cross-border expansion

Entering and running new markets without losing control of the core business.

  • 08

    Organizational design

Structures, roles and accountabilities for the next stage of growth.

Engagement formats

Each engagement is sized to the problem it solves

  • Where most clients start

    Diagnostic

The first stage on its own, giving you a clear view of the capabilities that will decide your next stage of growth.

  • Focused

    Capability sprint

One priority capability taken from mapping to embedding, with a practitioner working alongside your team.

  • Broad

    Embedded program

Several capabilities built in parallel, with practitioners working across the leadership team.

What stays with you

Our goal is an organization that no longer needs us

  • Practices written into your processes, meetings and systems
  • People inside the organization who can teach them to others
  • Templates, manuals and tools that your team owns
  • Measures you can keep tracking after we leave

Questions

What leaders ask before an engagement

How is this different from hiring a consultancy?

A consultancy usually leaves a report and a set of recommendations. Our practitioners work inside your team on live problems, and the engagement ends when your people can run the new practices without us.

How long does an engagement take?

It depends on the capability and the size of the organization. We agree the timeline and the measures of success during the diagnostic.

How is an engagement priced?

We price each engagement after the diagnostic, once the scope, the length and the practitioner team are clear.

Who will we work with?

You work with named practitioners who have built the capability you need. You meet them before any work begins, and a Ports & Bridges lead stays with the engagement throughout.

Start with a conversation about where your organization is going

A diagnostic is the first stage of every engagement, and it begins with your leadership team.
